Toyota’s ‘La Pelota Nos Mueve’ Provides Donations, Experiences to Youth Clubs

July 30, 2024

We recently worked alongside Toyota to help the automotive brand continue its efforts in the soccer community. For the second consecutive year, Toyota donated equipment to youth soccer clubs as part of an initiative called “La Pelota Nos Mueve.”

Started in 2023, “La Pelota Nos Mueve” is an initiative to support local soccer clubs nationwide. This year, a special focus was given to girls teams as Toyota aims to empower Hispanic and Latina girls—a group often overlooked in the soccer system in the U.S.

We helped Toyota select two youth clubs—Downtown LA Soccer Club in Los Angeles and Monterrey Rayados in Fort Worth—to whom they could donate equipment to support both players and coaches. The clubs were chosen, in part, for their specific focus on supporting girls of all ages and skill level.

Read more about Toyota’s donation to Downtown LA Soccer Club and how the club looks to donations from organizations to provide a free experience for players, many of whom are girls.

Both clubs provide young women the space to play, as well as the financial support through scholarships to limit financial barriers that prohibit participation. Rayados also welcomes children with autism and trains coaches to work with special needs children who, in turn, educate their players on the importance of creating and maintaining a supportive atmosphere for all individuals.

We were on the ground to capture the special moments when players and coaches learned of their equipment donations. Check out a photo gallery below.

Downtown LA Soccer Club and Monterrey Rayados join three other clubs, including Garland Tigres (Dallas), Las Vegas Diversity FC (Las Vegas), KSA del Deporte (Los Angeles), in receiving donations from Toyota this year as part of “La Pelota Nos Mueve.”

Toyota’s program giving back to the soccer community lives beyond just donations, however. Earlier this year we helped Toyota bring a team of girls to their first-ever Concacaf W Gold Cup game. Check out a recap of that experience below.
