As we wind down one of the best summers of soccer yet, the soccer world has turned its attention to European domestic leagues. Most of Europe will begin league play this month, kicking off months-long battles for domestic titles and, for some, European glory.
This includes the English Premier League, which, as the most-watched soccer league in the world, has become one of the most sought after properties for brands looking to take advantage of sport sponsorship opportunities.
Apparel Partners
Before we jump into the front-of-jersey and sleeve brand partners, let’s start with the apparel partners. There’s a new sheriff in town as adidas has supplanted Umbro as the leading apparel manufacturer in the Premier League. Seven teams now adorn the famous three-stripes on their jerseys.
New retail brand Sudu enters the mix as the apparel manufacturer for Wolverhampton. Both Sudu and Wolverhampton are owned by Fosun Sports Group.
Here is a breakdown of apparel manufacturers and the teams they represent:
- adidas (7): Arsenal, Aston Villa, Fulham, Leicester City, Manchester United, Newcastle United, Nottingham Forest
- Umbro (4): Bournemouth, Brentford, Ipswich Town, West Ham United
- Nike (4): Brighton, Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur
- PUMA (2): Manchester City, Southampton
- Macron (1): Crystal Palace
- Sudu (1): Wolverhampton
Jersey Front Partners
Once again, front-of-jersey partners fall into the gambling category more than any other. In fact, gambling companies adorn the front of 12 jerseys or 60% of the entire league—a 71% increase from last season.
Premier League teams may be taking advantage of gambling sponsorship revenue while they still can. The Premier League banned gambling companies appearing on the front of jerseys beginning in the 2026-27 season.
One interesting partnership to note is the one between Ed Sheeran and Ipswich Town. The logo of Sheeran’s Mathematics Tour has been on the front of Ipswich Town jerseys since 2021 when the tour began. Sheeran is a lifelong fan of Ipswich Town and even bought a minority stake in the club before the start of the season.

Sleeve Partners
Just like last season, 11 unique industries are represented by the sleeve partners of Premier League teams. And also like last season, the financial services category represents the most sleeve partnerships with five.
However, the tourism category saw a 67% increase in sleeve partnerships from last season and joined the financial services category at the top of the list with five sleeve deals of its own.
One data point that seemingly points to the increasing American influence in the British game is the number of American companies represented on Premier League sleeves this season. That number has increased to six (DeWalt, Experience Kissimmee, Fever Up, Expedia, Kraken, Intuit Quickbooks)—a 300% increase from just the two American companies represented last season.
Other European Club Jersey Partners
While the Premier League will grab the most attention, we can’t ignore some of the biggest clubs in world soccer that span the rest of the European continent, and we found some interesting things of note.
Gambling doesn’t have the same presence on the continent as it does in England with only one of the teams included below (Inter Milan) having a gambling company on the front of their jersey.
Airlines, specifically ones headquartered in the Middle East, are most prevalent among the top teams in Europe, with Emirates – which also appears on Arsenal’s jersey – the front-of-jersey sponsor for both AC Milan and Real Madrid.
Sleeve partners are not as prevalent among European teams as they are with English teams. Roughly one-third of the teams we analyzed are without one.
